COMMON
QUESTIONS
When is it too early to work on my property?
Spring clean-up can be started as soon your yard becomes accessible. This is usually a very busy time for most companies so be sure to book early! It also depends on the work. For example a lot of tree work can occur in Winter while growth is dormant, but for lawn work we recommend waiting until mid or late April after the “spring thaw”.
Why is my backyard so wet in the spring?
Frozen or thawing ground does not have the same ability to absorb moisture and with the combination of winter melt and thawing ground you could run into pooling water.
Aside from the regular snow melt, if your backyard is excessively wet it could be a sign of a larger drainage issue. One of our experts here at Cutting Edge can assess your specific situation and recommend an effective and affordable option.
Is it better to aerate in the Spring or Fall?
We prefer spring aeration to coincide with our Spring overseeding process. By aerating the lawn prior to overseeding we increase the chance of germination due to seeds growing in the holes left behind.
